Roblox to Enforce Mandatory Age Verification for Chat Features by End of 2025
Roblox will require all users who access communication features to complete age verification by year’s end. The three-step system combines facial age estimation, government ID checks, and parental consent for minors, with restrictions preventing adult–minor communication unless verified. The move comes amid growing regulatory scrutiny and builds on tools such as Trusted Connections and Roblox Sentinel, though privacy advocates note concerns over biometric data handling.

Identy.io Donates Touchless Biometric Technology to The Exodus Road to Strengthen Anti-Trafficking Efforts
Identy.io has donated its smartphone-based fingerprint and facial recognition application to anti-trafficking nonprofit The Exodus Road. The touchless tech allows rapid identity checks in the field without specialized hardware. Validated in NIST testing with sub-millisecond processing speeds, the system will help investigators identify victims faster. The Exodus Road has rescued over 6,000 survivors to date, and says the technology could accelerate rescues worldwide.
TTEC Digital and VoxEQ Partner to Bring Real-Time Voice Bio-Signal Fraud Detection to SmartApps Cloud
TTEC Digital is integrating VoxEQ’s Verify solution into its SmartApps Cloud platform, targeting fraud prevention in financial services contact centers. TTEC CEO Dave Seybold and VoxEQ CEO Jack Caven both said the system enhances customer trust while preserving privacy.
UK Expands Ethics Oversight as BFEG Transitions to Science and Technology Ethics Advisory Committee
The UK Home Office has expanded the remit of the Biometrics and Forensics Ethics Group for 2025–2026, renaming it the Science and Technology Ethics Advisory Committee (STEAC). The commission covers biometrics, AI, and forensic databases, including oversight of police facial recognition, algorithmic risk assessments, and forensic projects such as YSTR development. Stripe Integration Boosts World’s Eye-Scanning Digital Identity Platform
Stripe has added a fiat-to-crypto onramp to World App, allowing U.S. users to buy Worldcoin (WLD) directly in-app with cards, bank transfers, or PayPal. The move supports World’s biometric identity rollout, which now includes Orb iris-scanning devices deployed in London and expanding to other UK cities. Around 1,500 Orbs are active globally, with over 12,000 more planned. Users who verify their identity through Orb scans receive WLD tokens as incentives.
