Signicat and WSO2 have announced a partnership connecting Signicat’s digital identity platform to WSO2’s Identity Server, giving enterprise customers access to 35 European electronic identity schemes through a single integration.
The partnership addresses the complexity businesses face when authenticating customers across multiple EU member states. Signicat’s platform connects to 35 national eID schemes and is built to accommodate the EU Digital Identity Wallet as the framework rolls out under eIDAS 2. According to Signicat’s “Battle to Onboard” report, 68 percent of European consumers have abandoned a financial application due to overly complex processes. The integration is aimed at reducing that friction by giving WSO2 customers a single route to European identity compliance rather than country-by-country development work.
“Authentication for pan-European businesses shouldn’t mean building a new identity strategy for every country. That approach not only slows down growth but can create dangerous gaps in security,” said James Brodhurst, Partnerships Manager at Signicat. “By adding our network of European IDs to WSO2’s powerful platform, we are making that trust easy to create.”
“The challenge for most development teams isn’t building the core application; it’s managing the complex integrations required to operate across different markets, especially in the identity space,” said Geethika Cooray, Vice President and General Manager of Identity and Access Management at WSO2.
The two companies have identified joint prospects across several European markets and plan to present the integration at the Incyber forum in Lille, France. Signicat participates in the WE BUILD consortium for large-scale EUDI Wallet pilots across 27 countries and was selected by Denmark to support its mobile driving licence and national digital identity wallet. The company also participated in the Aptitude EUDI Wallet pilot testing digital travel credentials. WSO2 has been expanding its digital identity partner network, including a partnership with MOSIP on eSignet modernization for national digital identity systems.
