Security and identity professionals can now register for the FIDO Alliance’s inaugural Authenticate conference. The event was originally scheduled to take place in June, but was pushed back to November and then converted to a virtual format due to COVID-19.
Authenticate is now set to run from November 9-19, with an agenda that includes six full days of sessions, talks, and other programming. Registration for the virtual event is free, and grants full access to the conference, including the keynote presentations and the virtual expo hall.
With Authenticate, the FIDO Alliance is hoping to advance the international conversation around authentication in an effort to reduce the world’s reliance on passwords. Speakers will discuss a wide variety of topics ranging from PSD2, GDPR, and eIDAS policy to the use of FIDO authentication in finance and other industries. The goal is to give attendees a better sense of the current best practices so they can apply FIDO standards across their own digital channels. The conference will also feature multiple case studies from various technology providers.
The virtual expo hall, meanwhile, will give guests access to networking lounges and 360-degree booths where they can view demos and speak with representatives from the conference’s sponsors. The setup is designed to mimic the feel of an in-person event. Google, Microsoft, and Yubico will act as Authenticate’s signature sponsors, while Feitian, HID, NokNok, and Secret Double Octopus are amongst those who have signed on at the Platinum tier.
