Time and attendance systems are designed to keep track of who is where and when they’re there. A range of solutions are now commercially available, from heavy-duty biometric kiosks that can scan the faces of construction workers onsite, to iris scanning systems that can scan healthcare workers even if they’re wearing face masks. And it isn’t just private companies that are embracing this technology: Government authorities in places like Kenya and India have been using biometric time and attendance tracking to help ensure that taxpayers’ money is not going to waste, thereby improving public trust.
