“Until now, we had agents who marketed our product in these areas, but the constitution of this team will allow us to go further and establish ourselves in these markets that have a great potential in terms of companies and users.” – Javier Mira, CEO, FacePhi
FacePhi is signaling ambitious growth plans with the appointment of a new sales executive who will be dedicated to building business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Enrico Montagnino brings particularly well-suited experience to his new role as VP of EMEA Sales. He spent the bulk of his career targeting the EMEA regions as a Sales VP with Qognify, a data analytics firm, serving in the role from 2004 to 2018. And more recently, he held a succession of executive positions with Oosto, another major biometrics and identity specialist. He started as Oosto’s EMEA Sales VP in 2018, and went on to be named as the head of its EMEA business unit, and then as Senior Vice President of Global Sales.
Now, Montagnino will play a critical role in what FacePhi called a newly created international sales team that will accelerate the deployments of FacePhi’s technologies in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
“Until now, we had agents who marketed our product in these areas, but the constitution of this team will allow us to go further and establish ourselves in these markets that have a great potential in terms of companies and users,” explained FacePhi CEO Javier Mira.
The appointment speaks to FacePhi’s global ambitions, with the company having established an APAC subsidiary in Seoul in 2019, and having announced a LATAM subsidiary earlier this year. And it arrives at a promising time for the company’s technological trajectory: just a couple of weeks ago, FacePhi announced that its facial recognition solution had passed Level 2 of iBeta’s Presentation Attack Detection evaluation, obtaining ISO 30107-3 Level 2 compliance – an important achievement amid growing concern about ‘spoofing’ attacks that seek to mimic legitimate biometric credentials in order to fool an authentication system.
For his part, Montagnino lauded FacePhi as “a leading company” in a sector that is having “a moment of international growth.”
The announcement of Montagnino’s appointment comes on the heels of the news that FacePhi is relocating its headquarters to the Panoramis Life & Business workspace in the port area of Alicante, Spain. The change appears to be part of an effort to further improve employee satisfaction after FacePhi’s recent move to a four-day work week.
