Namirial has announced that its Namirial Onboarding suite is among the first solutions in Europe to be certified under the new remote identity proofing requirements introduced by the eIDAS 2 Regulation. The company says an accredited conformity assessment body has confirmed that its platform complies with Article 24 of eIDAS 2 and the ETSI TS 119 461 v2.1.1 standard, positioning Namirial ahead of a May 2026 deadline when the new rules become mandatory for qualified trust service providers.
The Onboarding platform combines document verification, biometric checks, and remote signatures, and can integrate with existing national digital identities such as Italy’s SPID and CIE. Namirial says the certified scope covers both hybrid workflows with human operator review and fully automated flows using NFC-enabled identity documents, national eID schemes at substantial assurance levels, and future European Digital Identity Wallets, including its own wallet app. The certification also extends to anti-fraud components such as presentation attack detection and injection-attack detection that are assessed against international standards.
In a related blog post, the firm notes that ETSI TS 119 461 is becoming the reference standard for remote onboarding across the European Union, with links to future anti-money laundering regulations and European Banking Authority guidelines. Namirial argues that many current identity-verification flows operating at “substantial” assurance will need upgrades to reach the new “high” threshold required for issuing qualified certificates and attributes, and that early certification can reduce compliance risk for customers that need to overhaul their onboarding stacks before the 2026 deadline.
Several other identity verification providers have also secured eIDAS certification in recent months, including Keyless and ReadID, as the EU’s digital identity ecosystem continues to mature.
