Fingerprint Cards has found a major new distribution partner for its biometric technology: Mouser Electronics has signed on as a reseller of the FPC BM-Lite solution.
A Berkshire Hathaway company, Mouser Electronics is one of the world’s biggest electronic component distributors. The company’s headquarters are in Texas, but it has locations all over the world, with 27 offices across North and South America, Asia, Europe, India, and the UK.
The FPC BM-Lite, meanwhile, is a biometric module designed for easy, plug-and-play deployment. The solution is aimed at enabling fingerprint-based authentication across a range of potential applications, from smart door locks to cryptocurrency wallets.
Fingerprint Cards secured Digi-Key Electronics as a distribution partner for the solution in the spring of last year, and is now looking to Mouser Electronics to further extend its market reach.
“We believe this is an opportunity to scale even further with FPC BM-Lite and to reach new application areas and new verticals,” explained Michel Roig, the head of Fingerprint Cards’ Payments & Access business line. “We believe that Mouser will help us find new potential markets.”
Mouser Electronics is already listing Fingerprints’ solutions on its website as a result of the agreement. The FPC BM-Lite module is listed starting under $20 (for bulk orders), while the FPC BM-Lite Development Kit lists for $200.
