Money20/20 Delayed Until September

Money20/20 Europe has officially been postponed. The event has now been rescheduled for September 22-24, and will still take place at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam.

The decision comes in the wake of several other noteworthy cancellations and delays, all of which were made due to ongoing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. The Money20/20 organizers have consulted with public health officials and Dutch authorities, and will continue to communicate with partners, customers, and sponsors ahead of the new date.

In that regard, all Money20/20 guest passes will automatically roll over to the new date, so anyone who had already made arrangements to attend the show in June will still be able to do so in September. The same is true for any sponsorship arrangements, though Money20/20 managers will reach out to answer any questions those sponsors may have about the change.

People with June reservations will similarly be able to rebook for September at no extra charge. Rai Hotel Services will be getting in touch with guests to facilitate that process.

The announcement adds to the growing economic impact of the coronavirus, which has wreaked havoc on the 2020 convention circuit. MWC Barcelona and the HIMSS Global Health Conference were both cancelled due to the outbreak, while several other conferences have tried to reschedule for later in the year. ID4Africa will now take place in October, while ISC West will take place in July, assuming the current lockdowns have been lifted by that time. Several others – including KNOW Identity – are still trying to rebook for a later date.

Given the scope of the disruption, the convention schedule will be extremely crowded if things do return to normal in the second half of the year, especially if the pandemic forces more event cancellations in the weeks and months to come.
