The 2020 event schedule is continuing to feel the effects of the coronavirus. The upcoming KNOW Identity Conference has officially been postponed, making the tech event the latest scheduling casualty of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
KNOW Identity was originally slated to run from April 5 to 8 in Las Vegas. The organizers have assured guests that the event will be rescheduled for a later date, although they have not yet settled on a date and are still examining their options. KNOW has promised that it will share any updates – and any programming changes – as soon as it has that information.
Of course, KNOW Identity is not the only event that has been forced to alter its plans due to the coronavirus. Both MWC Barcelona and the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition were fully cancelled, while ID4Africa has been postponed until October and ISC West has been pushed back to the summer.
The shakeups reflect the recommendations of medical professionals, who have encouraged social distancing in an effort to slow the spread of the infection. That makes a large gathering like a major industry event particularly ill-advised in the current climate. The decision to postpone may be widely seen as both understandable and socially responsible given the present circumstances.
