Goodix will be bringing a raft of new technologies to next week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with a particular focus on wearable technology and the ever-expanding Internet of Things. The lineup includes an all-inclusive hardware and software security platform, as well as two new sensors intended for wearable devices.
According to Goodix, the new tech offers solutions to businesses and consumers in a variety of fields, especially as IoT innovations make inroads into everything from locks to street lamps to logistics. The company is hoping to push its “Sensor + MCU + Security + Connectivity” platform into smart homes and smart cities as an all-in-one security option that unites authentication, connectivity, and data processing in one convenient package.
Meanwhile, the two new sensors include an improved heart rate monitor for fitness and health tracking and a multi-channel in-ear detection solution with touch control capabilities for headphones. Both devices boast high accuracy and low power consumption.
Goodix will also be showcasing the latest version of its In-Display Fingerprint Sensor, which has already made appearances in smartphones from Huawei and Vivo. The MWC announcement indicates that the company is looking to expand its offerings with other biometric solutions.
MWC 2019 will run from February 25th to 28th.
