“…Cao will focus on the development of the Socure ID+ platform, overseeing engineering, quality assurance, and other related areas while building the company’s development team.”
Socure has a new executive to help lead product development. The company has appointed Rong Cao – a seasoned industry veteran, as Socure put it in a statement – as its Senior Vice President of Technology.
Cao comes to the company from a previous role as as VP of Engineering at Auth0, which offers an identity management development platform for applications. Cao held that position from August of 2019 to January of this year.
Before that, she served as VP of Technology and Chief Architect at Nielsen from 2015 to 2018, and as Symantec’s Director of Engineering from 2007 to 2015. She has also held managerial engineering roles at 2Wire and Broadvision.
In her new role with Socure, Cao will focus on the development of the Socure ID+ platform, overseeing engineering, quality assurance, and other related areas while building the company’s development team. Her efforts will likely include a strong focus on biometric onboarding technology in the wake of Socure’s launch of its selfie-based DocV solution in October.
“Rong deciding to join us in a very competitive market is a testament to our outstanding tech culture as we continue to attract top talent,” commented Socure CEO Johnny Ayers. “As one of the top identity technologists currently working in our industry, we are extremely proud and excited to welcome Rong to our leadership team.”
For her part, Cao also emphasized the appeal of the company’s culture in making her decision to join the team. “Throughout the interview process I was truly inspired by the team’s passion, collaboration and dedication,” she said. “I am very much looking forward to becoming part of this award-winning culture.”
Cao’s appointment appears to reflect a broader growth trajectory for Socure, arriving after the company raised $35 million in a funding round last summer.
