Ping Identity has integrated Anonybit’s decentralized identity solution into its platform, enabling its clients to leverage the latter’s turnkey SAML configuration to set up privacy-focused biometric identity verification that splits individual biometric templates into unphishable, unhackable ‘shards’.
It could prove to be an important partnership for Anonybit. Ping Identity has established itself as a major source of post-password authentication and identity solutions in the enterprise sector in particular, and in recent months has further raised its profile through partnerships with 1Kosmos and AuthenticID. The company says that Fortune 100 enterprises comprise over half of its client base.
Anonybit, for its part, is a newer startup. Co-founded and headed by former BioCatch executive Frances Zelazny, the company burst onto the scene in 2021 with an innovative SDK that revolved around the concept of breaking down individual biometric templates into anonymized puzzle pieces that would be stored across separate servers. The decentralized approach to identity was designed to ensure that no single source of data could be hacked or otherwise compromised, substantially raising the bar for biometric security.
Anonybit quickly evolved, with the company announcing in early 2022 that its platform could perform one-to-many biometric matches without relying on a centralized database. Shortly thereafter, Anonybit established a partnership with Rank One Computing, a facial recognition specialist renowned for its impressive performances in testing at the through the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Anonybit went on to obtain SOC2 and ISO27001 certifications in the summer, and FIDO certification in the fall.
Now, the Ping partnership is set to further establish Anonybit as an important player – and perhaps even a serious disruptor – in the identity security space.
“This partnership is another important step towards fulfilling our vision of a world with no data breaches and a world of trusted interactions, commented CEO Zelazny, adding that the partnership “provides a seamless integration that meets the combined objective of greater security, greater privacy and enhanced usability.”
The news comes after Zelazny participated in last month’s Enterprise Biometrics Virtual Identity Summit; a replay of her session is available to watch on-demand.
