Biometric smartglasses specialist Vuzix is enjoying broad promotional support from its partners at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show.
Among those showcasing its smartglasses, which have raised some eyebrows with their incorporation of facial recognition technology, are Netherlands-based 1Minuut Innovation, whose Genzõ mobile platform enables video chat and medical consultation through the Vuzix M400 Smart Glasses; AR Experts, a German firm demonstrating the use of Vuzix Blade and the ProGlove barcode scanner for warehouse operations; and Israel-based AR ski goggles designer Ride-On Vision, whose goggles integrate Vuzix technology.
SWORD, which placed a major order for Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses for its enterprise security platform just a couple of months ago, is also on hand to highlight the security applications of Vuzix’s technology. Likewise, the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Public Safety Communications Research Division is offering a high-profile spotlight with its demonstration of an AR traffic stop scenario in which first responders are equipped with the Vuzix Blade.
Other partners showcasing Vuzix technology at CES include enterprise wearable solutions specialist Ubimax, smart shoe designer VRAktion, language transcription software specialist Zoi Meet, and Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing solutions specialist SignGlasses, which is demonstrating an interpretation and captioning system that combines Vuzix Blade with offsite interpreters and captioners.
CES 2020 started on in Las Vegas on Tuesday, and is slated to conclude on Friday, January 10th.
