New BioSec Venue Access Solution to Arrive in Q2 2019

BioSec is developing a new biometric venue access system based on palm vein recognition technology, the company has announced.

The as-yet-unnamed solution appears to build on the foundations of BS RapidGuard, BioSec’s flexible access management and attendance tracking solution, also based on palm vein biometrics. Moving beyond that solution’s ad hoc deployment focus, the forthcoming solution will focus on establishing fast access lanes at fixed venues, with the capability of sharing registrants’ biometric data across locations so that individuals only need to register for the program once.

In that sense, the solution will be similar to CLEAR, a biometric, expedited screening program that was initially aimed at US airports but has now expanded to major sports stadiums in the country.

Hungary-based BioSec’s solution also builds upon the company’s partnership with Fujitsu, the source of its palm vein recognition technology. Its announcement comes just a week after the two firms jointly showcased their technology at Arena Summit 2018 in Frankfurt.

BioSec says it plans to launch its new venue access solution in the second quarter of next year.
