AnyVision has hired Dieter Joecker to be its new Chief Technology Officer. Joecker joins the company after a lengthy stint at Bosch Security Systems, where he held the title of Chief Technology Officer of video security for the past ten years.
In his new position, Joecker will be expected to advance AnyVision’s market position as a leading provider of computer vision technology. The company outfits equipment manufacturers with touchless access control, remote authentication, and watchlist alerting capabilities, all of which fall under Joecker’s new technology portfolio.
“I had a bird’s eye view of the computer vision and visual AI landscape in my previous role at Bosch, and AnyVision stood out as a unique and superior recognition technology provider,” said Joecker. “I see significant whitespace in the commercial market for accurate face recognition in safety applications and in device and services authentication.”
Joecker joined Bosch in 2004, after the company acquired the startup that Joecker was working for when he developed the first IP camera. He holds numerous patents for various video management and IP camera technologies, and helped create the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) open standard in collaboration with AXIS and Sony.
AnyVision is hoping that Joecker will help the company capitalize on the growing demand for contactless authentication solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Boon Edam recently integrated the company’s Abraxas facial recognition platform into its own physical access control products, though Microsoft divested from AnyVision following an audit of its mass surveillance practices.
