“In addition to our commitment to privacy, our customers can feel confident that we are making every investment to establish and maintain the highest level of security and compliance.” – Frances Zelazny, CEO, Anonybit
Anonybit has attained SOC2 and ISO27001 for its pioneering decentralized biometrics platform, which is designed to break down a given biometric template into encrypted shards stored across different servers.
The SOC Type II examination is performed against American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) standards for SOC for Service Organizations, while the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001:2013 certification concerns information security management. Adherence to both standards testified to strong, enterprise-level data security.
“Completing both SOC 2 and ISO27001 certifications reinforces Anonybit’s ongoing commitment to the security, availability, and processing integrity of the Anonybit platform,” commented Anonybit co-founder and CEO Frances Zelazny. “In addition to our commitment to privacy, our customers can feel confident that we are making every investment to establish and maintain the highest level of security and compliance.”
That extra assurance complements an already high degree of privacy and security thanks to the innovative nature of Anonybit’s decentralized identity platform, which supports biometric authentication using discrete ‘anonybits’ of stored biometric data, each of which represents only a shard of a larger template. Biometric matching is performed against the sum total of the shards, but because they are managed in a decentralized fashion, no single biometric template can be compromised in a hack attack or leak.
For its SOC2 and ISCO27001 certifications, Anonybit was audited by Prescient Assurance, a Certified Public Accounting Firm serving the North American market that also offers auditing services pertaining to PCI, NIST, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and CSA STAR standards.
News of the certifications comes shortly after Anonybit’s announcement of a partnership with facial recognition specialist Rank One Computing, which delivered a dramatic improvement in its technology’s accuracy through NIST testing earlier this year.
