HID Global is celebrating the selection of two of its solutions as winners at the 2020 ASTORS Homeland Security awards as chosen by American Security Today (AST).
HIDs NOMAD 30 Pocket Reader and WorkforceID solutions won in the Best Law Enforcement Mobile Device and Best Identification Management Solution categories, respectively.
The HID NOMAD 30 Pocket Reader allows law enforcement officers to pair their personal mobile device with the biometric reader and use it to capture a suspect’s fingerprint and match it against a watch list in the field, without returning to the station.
“We are proud to receive this award for our NOMAD 30 Pocket Reader, which facilitates rapid identification in the field and recognizes HID’s mission to enable and support law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve,” said Steve Currie, Senior Vice President and Head of Extended Access Technologies with HID Global.
The other top prize went to HIDs WorkforceID solution, a new cloud-based identity and access management platform that aims to allow for a more seamless experience when using identity credentials to access both physical and digital workplaces.
HID Workforce is ISO 27001-certified, and is the successor to HIDs SAFE access management software, with HID Global using feedback from over 250 organizations to make the improvements it includes.
“We are pleased with this industry recognition for WorkforceID, which addresses the dynamic cyber and physical security needs, as well as regulatory compliance challenges, of today’s diverse work environments,” said Brad Jarvis, Senior Vice President and Head of Identity & Access Management Solutions with HID Global. “Our solution’s growing workforce and visitor identity management applications will continue to drive efficiency and further streamline workplace processes.”
The ASTORS Homeland Security Awards program was established to recognize cutting-edge and forward-thinking security solutions.
