Zwipe Founder Departs Company’s Board

Zwipe‘s founder and former CEO has left the company, the biometrics specialist has announced.

Kim Humborstad launched the fingerprint sensor firm in 2009, and served as it’s chief executive until 2018, when he moved into a role as the company’s Chief Growth Officer and the Deputy Chairman of its board of directors. Last month, Humborstad announced that he would resign from his position.

“I’ve had an amazing journey with Zwipe for the past decade, however it is time for me to step down to focus on new opportunities,” Humborstad said in a statement announcing the move. “I wish everyone in the company success and will forever be a great supporter of Zwipe.”

The Chairman of the company’s board, Jörgen Lantto, credited Humborstad for his service to Zwipe. “On behalf of Zwipe, I would like to thank Kim for his valuable contributions over the years and wish him all the best for the future,” he said.

Humborstad’s departure marks the latest high-profile executive change at Zwipe over the past year, with Robert Mueller having come on as the company’s new CTO in the first half of 2019, and Lars Kristian Solheim having been named its incoming CFO last month. Solheim will officially take that position starting March 1st.
