“In an unusual innovation, ZTE is also launching the device with a service package called Global VIP Passport, which will offer users perks like Chinese-language online “emergency consultation” on certain travel destinations, a repair warranty, mobile bank account insurance, and more.”
ZTE has launched a new, upgraded version of its flagship Axon smartphone – the Axon Max – and once again the company has returned to Fingerprint Cards (FPC) and Precise Biometrics for its fingerprint scanning technology.
The Axon Max offers a six-inch screen, high-fidelity audio playback, a 16MP rear camera and a 13 MP front-facing camera. It’s also energy-conscious, sporting a 4140mAh battery and Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which ZTE says can recharge the device by 60 percent within a matter of half an hour. In an unusual innovation, ZTE is also launching the device with a service package called Global VIP Passport, which will offer users perks like Chinese-language online “emergency consultation” on certain travel destinations, a repair warranty, mobile bank account insurance, and more.
And, like the original Axon and the Axon Mini follow-up, the device features an FPC1025 fingerprint sensor powered by Precise Biometrics’ Precise BioMatch Mobile algorithm software. This is probably the last iteration of the Axon that ZTE can get away with, but given the company’s apparent satisfaction with the biometric technology, it seems likely that it will partner again with FPC and Precise Biometrics for future devices’ fingerprint scanners.
