Yoti Enables Live Theatre with FRANKD Immunity Credentials

Yoti will be providing actors with immunity credentials to enable the UK’s first live stage show since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The cast and crew of Sleepless, A Musical Romance will be tested every single time they show up for work at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, both during rehearsals and when daily shows begin on September 1.

The program is made possible through Yoti’s partnership with GeneMe, which was first announced back in May. GeneMe is a Polish biotech company that has developed a COVID-19 test that can be completed onsite in less than half an hour for as little as £10. Independent evaluators have found the FRANKD test to be 100 percent accurate, and the test has cleared the European CE regulatory standards.

To facilitate the safe return to the stage, the cast and crew of Sleepless will first be asked to download the Yoti app and create an account. They can then use the app to scan the QR code on their daily FRANKD test kit, which links each individual to their respective test and ensures that results are sent to the right recipient. Once the test is complete, the result will be registered in a central database and a digital health certificate will be sent to the appropriate Yoti account. Users will be able to access that immunity credential through their mobile phone.

A single portable analyzer can process up to 90 samples in 30 minutes, which means that the FRANKD solution can be scaled relatively easily to support mass testing efforts at the venue. If the Sleepless trial goes well, Yoti is hoping that the technology can be deployed to make it safe to return to other high-traffic indoor areas like airports and corporate offices. 

According to Yoti, the Troubadour is large enough to maintain a safe social distance between the audience and the staff. Face masks will be required during shows, and the audience will be screened for fever when they arrive at the theatre.
