Daon has upgraded its vaccine credential app to enable use across a multi-leg journey.
Launched in the spring of 2021, the VeriFLY solution is a digital wallet that is designed to let users present a virtual version of their vaccination receipt when traveling. Previously, VeriFLY users were only able to access their credentials for point-to-point travel, but the new upgrade means that VeriFLY credentials can be used across the entire journey in a multi-stop itinerary, even if it involves multiple different airlines.
In announcing the upgrade, Daon CEO Tom Grissen framed it as an illustration of the adaptability of VeriFLY to changing travel requirements around the world. “This new expanded capability removes the added stress of travel restrictions, providing travelers with health document credentials throughout their entire travel journey, including multiple leg trips, outbound and inbound travel, codeshares, interline and more,” he said.
Grissen highlighted the growth of VeriFLY in a recent interview with FindBiometrics, noting, “when we get our technology right, we have very steep adoption curves.” Earlier in the year, Daon had revealed that VeriFLY had 200,000 users; now the company says it recently reached the milestone of 12 million travelers serviced using the solution. And despite its name, VeriFLY isn’t just being used at airports – over a million Carnival Cruise gets have used the solution so far.
Daon will be showcasing the solution at the World Aviation Festival in Amsterdam from October 4 to 6.
