Vision-Box is launching a new Seamless Kiosk for self-service passenger processing. The new Kiosk offers many of the same utilities as other self-service kiosks, insofar as it allows people to check in and check their bags without needing to speak to a human agent.
The things that set the Seamless Kiosk apart are its modular design and its accessibility features. On the design front, clients can customize the hardware in the Kiosk based on the needs of their organization. Options include a fingerprint scanner, a document and barcode reader, and a printer module that can be tweaked to print everything from a bag tag to a boarding pass.
Clients can also choose to install an accessibility keypad, which is one of many features that are intended to make the Seamless Kiosk as user-friendly as possible. Other such features include the braille signs and the smart passenger guide system, which should make it easier for people to navigate the screen. In that regard, the user interface offers audible and tactile feedback to assist the user, and to ensure that those with impaired vision, limited reach, or some other disability can still take advantage of the self-service option.
In addition to the assistive tech, the Seamless Kiosk comes with a facial recognition camera that automatically adjusts its height and illumination level to capture a better photo. The system comes with ISO-certified liveness detection capabilities to guard against spoofing, while its ISO 19794-5 certification attests to the fact that it handles personal data in a secure fashion. The Kiosk is built in accordance with International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) guidelines, and complies with disability legislation in the US, Canada, and the European Union.
“We are pleased to launch Seamless Kiosk, a truly nimble device which can be deployed in multiple markets such as identity management, travel and tourism, and border control, allowing the user to enjoy the best seamless experience, with the highest accuracy and speed via a biometric-by-design solution,” said Vision-Box Product Head Alessandro Minucci
Seamless Kiosk is compatible with various Entry/Exit System requirements, and has been fully integrated with Vision-Box’s flagship Orchestra digital identity management platform. Vision-Box previously partnered with Airside to enable mobile screening, and has provided contactless and biometric screening technology for airports in Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
