Vision-Box is now open for business in India, with its new New Delhi office having officially opened last week.
First announced in early June, the office is intended to help the Portugal-based company target opportunities for its biometric air travel solutions in the Indian market, where biometric services are increasingly prominent thanks to its Aadhaar national ID program. Vision-Box expects India to be one of the biggest points of origin for airline traffic over the next several years, offering considerable potential for its solution as biometric passenger screening and processing continues to be embraced by government authorities, airports, and airlines more broadly.
In a statement announcing the opening of its New Delhi office, Vision-Box said that an official inaugural reception was attended by “the highest Indian and Portuguese Government representatives,” along with “high profile individuals from the aviation sector.” Speaking at the reception, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Internationalization Affairs, Eurico Brilhante Dias, called the office’s opening “a great political and diplomatic moment,” adding, “The Portuguese and Indian Governments share a vision of a common future.”
Vision-Box’s New Delhi office will be led by Vision-Box India Regional Strategy and Operations Senior Manager Pedro Pinto, and has kicked off its work with a team including local and international talent.
