Vision-Box Sees Aadhaar Opportunities with New Delhi Office

Vision-Box will open a new office in India at the end of this month, the company has announced. The office will be located in the Jor Bagh neighbourhood of New Delhi.

In a statement announcing the plans, Vision-Box noted that India accounts for over 17 percent of the global population, and that India will be the third biggest country of origin for growing annual airline passenger flows by 2025. “This places investment in India’s citizen services and travel infrastructure at an important and crucial juncture,” the company asserted.”

Commenting further, Vision-Box CEO Miguel Leitmann said, “We have paid very close attention to the country’s modernization efforts in the citizen services domain,” alluding to Aadhaar, India’s ambitious biometric national ID program. With its reliance on fingerprint, iris, and face biometrics for citizen access to a wide range of services in both the public and private sector, Aadhaar presents some potential synergies with Vision-Box’s biometric passenger processing platform for airports. “We want to assist in getting to the next level,” Leitmann continued.

The new office will be inaugurated by Portugal’s Secretary of State for Internationalization Affairs on June 27th, with the ceremony to be followed by a reception hosted by Vision-Box at the Portuguese embassy in New Delhi.
