Trust Stamp Joins Mastercard Program to Scale Secure Identity Solutions

Trust Stamp Denmark has been selected as one of five companies to join the Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV 2025 program, a competitive and impact-focused initiative designed to accelerate startups developing scalable solutions aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Operated across the Nordic and Baltic regions, the program is a partnership between Mastercard and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Lighthouse MASSIV platform supports mission-driven startups by connecting them with corporate partners, investors, and international development experts. The program offers mentorship and resources at no cost, with the overarching goal of improving the lives of one billion people by 2025 through social and financial inclusion, sustainability, and ethical innovation.

Trust Stamp’s selection reflects its strong track record in secure identity technologies. The company recently secured a patent for an anti-deepfake biometric verification system that uses interactive challenge-response techniques for liveness detection—enabling robust authentication on standard smartphones without specialized hardware. The system is designed to combat identity fraud and synthetic biometric threats without compromising user privacy.

The company also earned the D-seal certification, a Danish privacy and cybersecurity label that recognizes companies meeting high standards for responsible data usage. The certification reflects Trust Stamp’s broader mission to build interoperable, privacy-first identity solutions that avoid vendor lock-in and promote ethical digital practices.

“By working with Mastercard, we have the potential to improve the lives of tens of millions of people,” said Jonathan Patscheider, Vice President of Trust Stamp Denmark. He added, “Our proprietary technology transforms biometric data into irreversible tokens, ensuring both privacy and security while enabling universal access to identity verification.”

Trust Stamp’s participation in the program will focus on deploying secure identity systems to support financial inclusion and humanitarian access—especially in regions where traditional identity infrastructure is lacking. The company’s cross-platform biometric interoperability solution enables seamless authentication across a range of devices and applications, furthering the program’s goal of empowering underserved populations through technology.

“By advocating for adaptable identity solutions and breaking vendor lock-in, we, together with partners in the MASSIV program, can empower governments and organizations to implement sustainable and future-proof digital identity systems that prioritize universality, security, and privacy,” said Patscheider.

Trust Stamp joins a cohort of startups selected from hundreds of applicants across the region. Its inclusion underscores both the strategic importance of privacy-focused identity solutions and the growing recognition of biometrics as a tool for inclusive development.
