Suprema AI has launched a new facial recognition module that can support up to 50,000 users. The “Q-Face Pro” solution features a built-in Neural Processing Unit and a Secure Element chip for the encryption of biometric data.
What’s more, its AI algorithm is designed to maintain a high level of accuracy when end users’ faces are obscured by face masks, hats, and glasses; and it features anti-spoofing capabilities. Suprema says the module offers a wide range of applications, including access control, ATMs, IoT devices, and even automotive applications.
In addition to facial recognition, the module also supports QR code and barcode reading. And Suprema AI says its hardware incorporates “optimized radiant heat design”, helping to ensure that the device can operate in challenging field conditions.
“The result of in-depth market research, Q-Face Pro is a next-generation face recognition OEM module that reflects the needs of large-scale customers leading the global market today,” said Suprema AI CEO Song Bong-Seop. “We expect to further enhance our global leadership in the Edge AI solutions industry by creating use cases in new fields and expanding the market.”
Suprema AI is the subsidiary of Suprema, which has already demonstrated the quality of its facial recognition technology through products like the BioStation 3 access control terminal – a winner in last year’s Detektor International Awards.
Suprema AI unveiled Q-Face Pro at this week’s ISC West event in Las Vegas.
