SensibleVision and Inuitive are teaming up to deliver a more comprehensive 3D facial recognition solution. The joint offering will blend SensibleVision’s 3DSafe facial recognition software with Inuitive’s NU4000AI vision processing chip to enable the identification of people moving through a large venue like a store, a hotel, or a commercial campus.
The new solution was designed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. SensibleVision’s facial recognition tech enables contactless authentication and access control, and the introduction of the Inuitive chip will allow the company to provide coverage across a much wider area. That will ensure that the solution is still effective if people have spread out to observe social distancing requirements.
“By leveraging our complementary strengths, I believe that we can help solve some of the key public health problems businesses, hospitals and other organizations are facing as a result of the COVID-19 crisis,” said Inuitive Founder and CEO Shlomo Gadot.
“We’re proud that our technology can be leveraged to save lives as well as help keep business, many of which are struggling due to concerns around disease spread, open,” added SensibleVision Co-Founder and CEO George Brostoff.
The news reflects the growing interest in contactless biometric solutions, which are generally more hygienic than shared biometric readers. The new offering arrives just over a year after SensibleVision revealed that it was looking to expand its presence in the APAC market.
