Florida-based mobile biometrics specialist SensibleVision is aiming for growth with a new executive appointment: Hoon Chung is now the company’s Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific.
Chung comes to the company from a previous position as Global Business Development VP with Neurala, a company specializing in deep learning neural network software. Chung has also served as Global Sales and Marketing SVP for IntelliVision, and as CEO of retail marketing specialist Retailigence (acquired by ShopAdvisor in 2016).
In announcing Chung’s appointment, SensibleVision indicated that he will initially focus on developing the company’s presence in the Asian smart devices market, but added that he will be tasked with searching for additional applications of SensibleVision’s facial recognition technology. Access control and the Internet of Things will be particular focus areas in this effort.
Commenting on his appointment, Chung said that he first met George Brostoff, SensibleVision’s CEO, at a conference in 2017. “I was immediately impressed with his technology and its potential to transform the evolution of the smartphone,” he said, adding that “George and SensibleVision are passionate about the solution actually working in real life environments and delivering value to enterprises, thus helping them to enhance their competitive differentiation.”
“The company’s approach is totally ‘customer centric’ which aligns perfectly with my own world view,” Chung said.
