Secureye has announced the launch of the S-FB4k, its latest biometric security device, capable of both face and fingerprint biometric authentication.
The S-FB4K is equipped with dual HD cameras for facial recognition scanning that are aided by two infrared lamps. The device has a 2.8″ color LCD screen to display the facial image captured by the cameras and complete the facial recognition process.
The S-FB4K also has a high-resolution optical fingerprint scanner, a 16-key backlit keypad, and is capable of voice interaction. It can store up to 5,000 fingerprints (and can be expanded to support up to 50,000) and 1,500 facial records (expandable to 3,000), and can manage 3,000,000 unique user records. According to Secureye, the identity verification process takes approximately one second.
In light of the global outbreak of COVID-19, many organisations and governments are moving away from fingerprint scanning as their biometric authentication solution in order to try to mitigate the spread of the highly contagious virus.
