CyberLink’s FaceMe facial recognition technology is on display at the Qualcomm booth at the NRF 2022 show in New York. NRF focusses on the retail industry, and runs from January 16-18 at the Javits Convention Center.
In that regard, CyberLink is demonstrating how FaceMe can be deployed as part of a broader contactless smart retail system. The company’s flagship facial recognition engine is running on the Qualcomm QCS6125 multimedia processor at NRF, and both the engine and the processor have been integrated into an Ordyx Point-of-Sale solution to show NRF guests how the two technologies can be geared toward a specific application. The Ordyx system uses facial recognition to verify the identities of cashiers that need access to the register, and to enable face-based payments for registered customers who opt into a biometric payments program.
FaceMe can also be integrated into kiosks and digital signage to provide customers with a more personalized shopping experience, or to provide retail outlets with actionable statistics and user data. The facial recognition tech can run on a variety of edge devices, and is compatible with the Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS operating systems.
“Qualcomm Technologies is pleased to work closely with CyberLink to drive next-generation biometric solutions,” said Qualcomm Business Development Director Ketal Gandhi. “We have worked with CyberLink to support pre-integration capabilities to enable customers and our ecosystem to save time on their development and accelerate the go-to-market timeline for their applications in Retail such as Biometrics Payment, Access Control, Loyalty and more.”
NRF guests can find FaceMe at booth #1411. FaceMe has previously been integrated in the Altek AI BOX, which features Qualcomm QSC603 technology. CyberLink has since passed the first level of iBeta’s Presentation Attack Detection testing program, and updated the FaceMe Security platform with Monitor and Health add-ons to help organizations maintain a safer work environment.
