CyberLink’s FaceMe facial recognition software is now compatible with AXIS Communications’ video management software (VMS). The two companies have specifically integrated CyberLink’s FaceMe Security solution with the AXIS Camera Station VMS.

The partnership will allow AXIS clients to add facial recognition to their camera networks. As it stands, security operators can use Camera Station to watch as many as 36 video feeds on a single screen. With FaceMe Security, they can supplement that with a second display that notifies them about the presence of any people of interest in real time. FaceMe can send an alert if it spots any employees, VIPs, or people on a watchlist, so staff can respond to their presence and take any necessary actions in a more timely fashion.
FaceMe Security and AXIS Camera Station can be used for basic surveillance, or for access control at facility points of entry. In that regard, administrators can use the VMS backend to assign people to different groups and manage their access privileges.
“Smart video management software is becoming an essential component to security and access control systems,” said CyberLink CEO Jau Huang. “Adding the facial recognition capabilities of FaceMe to the AXIS Camera Station enables a powerful, highly automated security monitoring environment, running on one intuitive platform.”
Of course, AXIS Camera Station is not the first VMS solution to be paired with CyberLink’s FaceMe platform. FaceMe was integrated with VIVOTEK’s VAST 2 VMS back in September of 2020, and it was then paired with the Nx Witness VMS from Nx Optix in February of 2021.
CyberLink’s facial recognition algorithm recently completed the second level of iBeta’s Presentation Attack Detection evaluation, which measures a solution’s liveness detection capabilities.
RealNetworks has also modified its SAFR facial recognition solution for use with AXIS’ camera technology.
