Mobile-based authentication specialist Prove has been named a top leader in Identity Verification Software in the Winter 2021 Report from G2.com, a peer-to-peer review site aimed at helping organizations select the best software for their needs.
“Rankings on G2 reports are based on data provided to us by real users,” explained G2 Chief Research Officer Michael Fauscette. “We are excited to share the achievements of the products ranked on our site because they represent the voice of the user and offer terrific insights to potential buyers around the world.”
In Prove’s case, the high ranking is a reflection of enthusiasm for its Phone-Centric Identity solution. It’s an approach to end user authentication that revolves around assessing an end user’s relationship to their smartphone. This includes verifying the phone number and its registered ownership, and looking at patterns in how it has been used over a period of years. The aim is to prevent fraudsters and criminals from posing as someone else using their mobile number.
According to Prove, in order to succeed in fooling its flagship solution, a fraudster would have to buy a phone in their victim’s name and make calls and log in to apps over a period of years, all while making regular payments to the mobile provider.
It’s an approach to authentication that has already helped Prove to win acclaim from the business press, with the company having been listed on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 for five years in a row, and on the Financial Times‘ list of The Americas’ Fastest Growing Companies for the past two years.
It has also helped Prove to establish a strong client base of over 1,000 businesses. Prove says that its client roster currently includes eight of the top 10 banks, three of the top five retailers, and even two of the top three cryptocurrency exchanges, among other high-profile clients.
“Prove is on a mission to deliver digital trust, allowing businesses to garner the confidence to do more in the digital-first world that continues to evolve,” explained Prove CEO Rodger Desai. “Our solutions provide a level of comfort and trust for customers, ensuring their constituents prove who they are with ease, accuracy, and privacy, enabling our customers to focus on what matters most – revenue, service, and economic empowerment.”
The strong G2.com rating for Prove, among the company’s other compelling metrics, reflects a broader enthusiasm for using mobile devices and behavioral analytics for remote user verification, trends that have accelerated along with digital transformation in recent years.
