“…Princeton Identity says it has opened a new office in Dubai that will focus on supporting the work at DXB, while also serving as a hub for the company’s other regional offices in Africa and the Middle East.”
Biometric technology from Princeton Identity is now helping to process travelers at the Dubai International Airport (DXB).
The company has announced that about a hundred of its Access500e terminals are now in operation at the airport’s Emirates Airlines terminals, and that it’s planning to deploy about 40 more terminals soon. The terminals have been installed into automated kiosks in collaboration with local partner Emaratech, and use facial and iris recognition to verify travelers’ identities as they enter and leave the country.
The development appears to be the latest step in DXB’s ambition to establish a completely passive traveler identification system based on biometrics and blockchain, and comes soon after Huawei’s announcement that Dubai Airport authorities were taking advantage of its modular data center solution to support its larger digitization program.
For its part, Princeton Identity says it has opened a new office in Dubai that will focus on supporting the work at DXB, while also serving as a hub for the company’s other regional offices in Africa and the Middle East. In a statement, the company added that it “will use this new hub to further its work with organizations in the enterprise, healthcare, financial and government sectors in the Greater Middle Eastern region.”
