Prestigious UK Boarding School Deploys IMID System from FST Biometrics

FST Biometrics has seen another high-profile deployment of its In Motion Identification technology: The UK’s Wellington College has deployed the IMID solution for access control of its fitness center.

News of the deployment comes after a major IMID deployment in Canada last autumn, with the iconic Canadian National Railway Company leveraging the system for access control at its head office. IMID has also seen deployments in health and fitness facilities such as the HydroLife Center in Israel, which implemented the system earlier in 2017. The IMID solution is lauded for its passive authentication capability, with the system using facial and gait recognition, with voice recognition offering an additional, optional factor.

In a statement announcing the Wellington College deployment, FST Biometrics described the institution as “one of the UK’s esteemed boarding schools,” noting that it was built in 1859 as a tribute to the first Duke of Wellington. The school’s Operations Bursar, Brian Cannon, explained, “We value our tradition, but also are prepared to go cutting-edge for the sake of members’ time, health and safety, all of which are preserved through FST’s advanced biometric identification system.”
