Precise Biometrics is singing the praises of Innovatrics’ SmartFace facial recognition system. The company licensed SmartFace back in 2019, and integrated it into its YOUNiQ access control platform to enable contactless access control in a variety of settings.
Doing so allowed Precise to overcome many of the limitations of traditional access control systems. For example, registering new employees in a company system often involved a considerable amount of administrative work, and the company would still need to station guards at building entrances to make sure that no one could gain access with a stolen badge.
SmartFace, on the other hand, enables an automated registration process that can be carried out remotely in as little as 30 seconds. It also eliminates the need for 24-hour staffing, since the biometric entry system will block any unregistered individuals, even if they do manage to get their hands on physical credentials.
Those improvements dramatically increased the appeal of the YOUNiQ Access solution. Precise has credited the platform for much of its success in 2020 after picking up a roster of new customers that includes Temporary Space, Exeger, and RCO Security.
“Innovatrics is truly a front runner in face recognition modality,” said Precise CEO Stefan Persson. “With our mutual core values, we can deliver solutions that positively impact people’s lives from entering premises to making businesses more efficient.”
Innovatrics’ facial recognition technology posted a top-three score in the DHS’s most recent Biometric Technology Rally. The company has since updated SmartFace to enable pedestrian and joint detection capabilities.
