Precise Biometrics Partners With Covr for Next Flagship Solution

Precise Biometrics has entered into a partnership with another Swedish-based firm, Covr Security, aimed at enhancing its forthcoming YOUNiQ solution.

Covr Security offers a 2FA solution based on a mobile app, allowing a given user to authenticate on their mobile device via a six-digit passcode. The plan is to leverage this solution with YOUNiQ, an authentication solution that Precise Biometrics says will support multiple biometric modalities including fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, and behavioral biometrics, as well as geodata.

In announcing its collaboration with Covr, Precise Biometrics said it plans to carry out pilots during the second half of this year, and to “then enter into a commercial phase.” Precise Biometrics also noted that Covr’s solution is aimed at sectors including financial services, gambling, retail, and healthcare.

News of the collaboration comes soon after Precise Biometrics’ publication of its latest quarterly update, in which CEO Stefan K. Persson suggested that his firm is aiming for commercialization of the YOUNiQ solution in 2020.
