Ping Identity has released a new self-service portal that makes it easier for enterprises to integrate their own identity and access management (IAM) solutions. Dubbed PingCentral, the platform comes with standardized workflows and templates that will show IAM professionals how to make minor changes to an existing system or how to deploy new security applications or APIs.
The company describes PingCentral as a “delegated administration” solution, and argues that it will drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to implement changes to an IAM system, especially for enterprises that may not have a lot of in-house IAM experience. To that end, PingCentral will walk an employee through the entire process, eliminating the need for a lot of meetings and email back-and-forth as people try to figure out what to do next.
“By simplifying fundamental IAM processes and enabling non-technical business teams to manage standard administrative tasks, PingCentral helps enable organizations to save valuable time and resources while strengthening their overall security posture,” said Ping Identity Product Management VP Loren Russon.
“We see enormous potential for PingCentral’s ability to positively impact our organization,” added Dan Ricke, the Information Security Manager at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. “A range of staff roles will be able to work in this solution regardless of IAM sophistication, speeding up the connecting process and saving time for the identity and access management team.”
PingCentral will create an auditable trail of changes, and comes with a central monitoring system that gives users a view of their company’s entire network. They can also configure the system to require approval before tweaking sensitive environments, and facilitate the deployment of single sign-on authentication technology.
Earlier this year, Ping Identity conducted a survey that found that many IT professionals are worried about cloud security. The new solution should help alleviate some of those concerns if it encourages companies to adopt better security practices.
Ping Identity is currently moving forward with plans for an NYSE IPO.
