Ping Identity and OLOID have deepened their healthcare identity partnership through a joint solution called Verified Trust for Clinical Workforce, designed to bring passwordless, biometric-enabled identity to clinical staff working in shared-device hospital environments. The collaboration also earned OLOID Ping Identity’s 2025 Innovation Partner of the Year award, presented at the PingRKO 2026 conference in Dallas. The joint solution combines Ping Identity’s PingOne Verify platform with OLOID’s tap-and-login hardware and software stack, targeting the authentication challenges created when multiple clinicians share workstations, kiosks, tablets, and mobile carts throughout a shift.
Under the integrated workflow, a clinician authenticates by tapping a badge or wearable at an OLOID-enabled device. OLOID’s platform then invokes PingOne Verify for biometric liveness detection and identity proofing, binding the authenticated session to the electronic health record system or other clinical application in use. PingOne Verify contributes document capture, passive liveness detection, and biometric comparison capabilities. OLOID’s hardware does not require staff to carry personal smartphones; authentication runs from a wall-mounted tap point or from hardware integrated into existing clinical infrastructure.
Verified Trust for Clinical Workforce covers three primary workflows: fast shared-device login replacing password entry, new employee onboarding with verified identity proofing that the companies say cuts enrollment from days to minutes, and self-service account recovery through biometric re-verification. The companies highlight HIPAA audit-trail compliance and Joint Commission alignment as key benefits, with identity-bound EHR access logs providing the verifiable access records that regulated clinical settings require. OLOID’s recent listing in the Epic Toolbox extends the integration’s reach to Epic-based clinical environments, the most widely deployed EHR system in US hospitals.
The partnership builds on Ping Identity’s recent push into biometric identity, including Ping Identity’s acquisition of Keyless earlier this year, which expanded the company’s biometric authentication portfolio. On OLOID’s side, OLOID’s FaceVault platform added AI-synthesized likenesses and customer-managed encryption keys in a July 2025 update, reinforcing the privacy architecture that underpins its healthcare authentication products.
