Ping Identity has completed its acquisition of London-based Keyless, closing a deal first announced last October and integrating privacy-preserving biometric authentication into its enterprise identity platform. The company says the move addresses the growing risk of AI-enabled impersonation and spoofing, positioning Keyless’ “Zero-Knowledge Biometrics” as a core component for passwordless authentication and rapid biometric re-verification without storing reconstructable biometric data.
Ping originally described the transaction as a way to extend its One Platform strategy across customer, workforce, and B2B identity use cases. That earlier announcement highlighted Keyless’ privacy-first approach and its potential in environments such as shared terminals and frontline workstations, where conventional multi-factor authentication can be difficult to deploy effectively.
Zero-Knowledge Biometrics as Fast “Re-Verification” Layer
In confirming the close, Ping said Keyless’ technology enables users to be re-verified “with one glance,” supporting step-up authentication and account recovery while maintaining low friction. “AI is accelerating identity-based attacks,” said Ping Identity CEO Andre Durand. “Authentication must be resilient and simple to use.”
Keyless uses secure multi-party computation and other cryptographic methods to distribute biometric data in a way that prevents any single system from holding a usable biometric template. The design has been central to its enterprise positioning, including partnerships such as its integration with IDnow to align onboarding verification with downstream authentication across the identity lifecycle. That partnership emphasized sub-300 millisecond verification speeds and privacy-focused architectures suited to regulated industries.
Regulatory Alignment and Enterprise Use Cases
Ping says the integration enhances its ability to deliver biometric re-verification across devices and workforce scenarios. The company is positioning the combined offering as responsive to tightening privacy and compliance demands under frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA, and to European digital identity developments under eIDAS 2.0 and PSD3.
Before the acquisition, Keyless had developed a series of partnerships aimed at extending biometric MFA into legacy enterprise environments. Its collaboration with Silverfort, for example, presented biometric step-up authentication as a layer for recovery and access reinforcement. That partnership and others framed the technology as aligned with emerging European standards for high-trust identity and resistance to injection attacks.
“Zero-Knowledge Biometrics allow organizations to re-verify the originally verified identity,” said Keyless CEO Andrea Carmignani. “Without ever exposing biometric data.” Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Ping Expands Leadership With CRO Appointment
Alongside the acquisition’s close, Ping Identity announced the appointment of Adnan Chaudhry as Chief Revenue Officer. Chaudhry will lead the company’s global go-to-market organization, spanning sales, marketing, solutions engineering, channels, and revenue operations. Ping said the hire reflects rising enterprise demand for trusted identity as AI accelerates digital interaction and automation.
Chaudhry most recently served as Executive Vice President at Slack, where he led global go-to-market strategy and post-merger integration with Salesforce. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Salesforce, including Senior Vice President for the Gen Commercial Business Unit. “As AI accelerates digital interactions, identity becomes the trust fabric that holds everything together,” said Durand. “Adnan has scaled global go-to-market teams through periods of change, and his leadership will help enterprises build and operate on trusted identity at scale.”
As CRO, Chaudhry will focus on expanding Ping’s global reach, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and aligning strategy with the growing need for secure and privacy-conscious identity solutions. “AI is fundamentally transforming how businesses operate,” Chaudhry said. “Trusted identity is now essential for enabling confidence, scale, and innovation.”
Ping’s dual announcement signals a broader investment in its One Platform approach, combining biometric re-verification with leadership expansion aimed at scaling digital trust for enterprise and AI-driven ecosystems.
