Biometric authentication provider Keyless has announced a new integration with identity security platform Silverfort, expanding enterprise options for passwordless authentication across cloud and on-premises environments. The partnership enables Silverfort customers to implement biometric multi-factor authentication (MFA) without requiring additional infrastructure, addressing critical gaps in identity security strategies.![]()
Keyless Integration Highlights Privacy-First Biometrics
The integration establishes Keyless as Silverfort’s first biometric authentication partner, building on Keyless’s strong showing in NIST’s Face Recognition Vendor Test. Keyless ranked 11th among more than 150 global vendors in a real-world scenario comparing good quality mugshots to low-quality webcam images, achieving a 99.93 percent accuracy rate. The performance underscores Keyless’s technical leadership in biometric authentication under practical conditions.
Keyless’s platform is distinguished by its privacy-preserving “Zero-Knowledge Biometrics” technology. Using secure Multi-Party Computation (sMPC), Keyless ensures that biometric data never leaves the user’s device and is never stored in centralized databases, minimizing privacy risks while maintaining authentication strength.
The joint solution supports a range of critical use cases, including step-up authentication for high-risk resources, secure and streamlined account recovery, and flexible authentication for shared device environments. It also extends biometric MFA protection to legacy systems, addressing a major challenge for enterprises pursuing full-scale identity security modernization.
Addressing the MFA Adoption and Biometric Gap
Despite increasing cybersecurity threats, multi-factor authentication remains unevenly adopted. Recent industry data indicates that 38 percent of large organizations and up to 62 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have not deployed MFA. Even among MFA users, biometric methods account for just around one percent of deployments, with the majority relying on software-based authenticators or SMS codes. The Keyless-Silverfort partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of frictionless, privacy-first biometric MFA in a market where traditional methods still dominate.
“Providing strong multi-factor authentication that does not disrupt employee operational efficiency is a constant challenge for both large and small organizations,” said Ben Goodman, VP of Business Development and Strategic Alliances at Silverfort. “We’re delighted to partner with a solution provider like Keyless, who can deliver biometrics—one of the strongest forms of authentication—to our customers.”
The collaboration follows Keyless’s recent launch of a browser-based biometric authentication SDK and Silverfort’s rollout of Runtime Access Protection, reflecting a broader push toward stronger, more adaptable identity protection strategies for modern enterprises.
