OLOID, a company specializing in enterprise biometric authentication, has announced an updated Privacy Architecture for its FaceVault platform, aiming to strengthen security while addressing growing data protection concerns. The release reflects ongoing efforts in the enterprise facial recognition space as businesses look for alternatives to traditional password-based systems.

The upgraded architecture introduces customer-managed encryption keys, giving organizations more direct control over access to their biometric data and reducing reliance on external service providers. Another significant change is the support for on-device storage of biometric templates and authentication data. This shift is designed to lower the risks associated with storing sensitive information in centralized databases, which can be attractive targets for cyberattacks.

OLOID has integrated AI-synthesized likenesses into its authentication process. Instead of relying solely on actual facial images for matching, the platform creates synthetic representations that serve as a protective barrier between genuine biometric data and its use during verification. This technique makes it more difficult for malicious actors to exploit real biometric details if data were ever compromised.

Adoption of advanced biometric solutions is gaining momentum across industries. According to Gartner, 60 percent of large enterprises are projected to deploy passwordless solutions for at least half of their use cases by 2026. OLOID’s FaceVault platform aligns with this trend by offering support for touchless face and palm scans, QR code-based access, physical badge scans, and mobile authentication methods, providing flexibility for diverse enterprise environments.

Beyond general enterprise use, OLOID’s platform has particular relevance in regulated sectors. The company recently earned certification from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances (EPCS), confirming its compliance with strict security and privacy standards essential in healthcare workflows. The platform is also designed to be compatible with key regulatory and technical standards, including NIST SP 800-76-2, FIDO2 protocols, and HIPAA privacy requirements, making it suitable for use in healthcare, critical infrastructure, and other sectors where data protection is paramount.

OLOID has steadily expanded its presence in the enterprise biometrics market through strategic partnerships and funding milestones. The company collaborated with Guardhat in a joint initiative focused on workplace security and contact tracing solutions, reflecting how biometric technologies are being integrated into broader safety ecosystems. Since raising $5 million in seed funding in 2020, OLOID has continued to emphasize privacy and security as central pillars of its product development strategy.
