“It’s gratifying to secure another large international telecom customer who recognizes the value of our solutions for enhancing the security of customer data accessed by call center personnel.” -Mike DePasquale, CEO, BIO-key
Peruvian telecommunications company Claro has opted to use BIO-key technology for its in-house security, leveraging biometrics to secure customer data.
BIO-key has announced that Claro will use its Biometric Service Provider software together with its IBM Enterprise Software and Services Offering system to enable fingerprint-based login for its employees. The solution will be implemented at Claro’s call center in Lima.
In a statement announcing the deployment, BIO-key explained that it will provide Claro with “a thorough audit trail of all agent activity accessing customer records, therefore supporting its objectives of increasing online security and expediting operational processes.”
Elaborating on the partnership more broadly, BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale emphasized the prominence of the client, Claro being a subsidiary of Latin American telecom América Móvil. “It’s gratifying to secure another large international telecom customer who recognizes the value of our solutions for enhancing the security of customer data accessed by call center personnel,” he said.
News of the project comes less than a month after BIO-key’s announcement of another contract win with Hungarian IT consultancy T-Systems, underlining the fingerprint biometrics specialist’s growing international reach.
