Orange Business has partnered with French startup ANOZR WAY to build a combined defense against deepfake-enabled fraud, pairing detection of manipulated media with work to reduce the exposure that makes impersonation credible in the first place. The collaboration brings together Orange Business’s multimodal deepfake detection across images, video, audio, and documents with ANOZR WAY’s focus on the human side of cyber risk.
The two companies approach the problem from different ends. Orange Business supplies the detection layer, analyzing images, video, audio, and documents for signs of synthetic manipulation, while ANOZR WAY works upstream to find the exposed personal information and online signals that attackers use to make an impersonation convincing, then helps organizations reduce that footprint and strengthen their identity-verification processes. Founded in Rennes in 2019, ANOZR WAY specializes in measuring and managing human cyber risk, identifying exploitable profiles and countering social-engineering and impersonation attacks.
The pairing reflects how deepfake fraud has become a business risk rather than a novelty. Generated audio and video are now used to impersonate executives and customers in financial workflows, and defending against it means both catching the fake at the moment of an interaction and shrinking the pool of real data an attacker can draw on to build one. The partnership is structured to cover both, combining prevention, detection, and human-risk management.
“For our customers, deepfake fraud is now a business risk,” said Usman Javaid, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Orange Business, framing the goal as reducing the human and digital exposure that makes fraud credible. Philippe Luc, Chief Executive Officer of ANOZR WAY, said integrating the startup’s expertise with Orange Business delivers a more comprehensive way to safeguard organizations.
The deal adds a telecom-scale player to a market filling with deepfake defenses. Vendors have been embedding detection across channels, as with Charm Security and Reality Defender’s work across voice, image, and text, and bringing it into live interactions, as Pindrop did by embedding deepfake detection and voice authentication into the Zoom contact center. Orange Business is pitching its offering for enterprise customers facing the same threat.
