Charm Security and Reality Defender Partner to Embed Deepfake Detection Across Voice, Image, and Text

Charm Security, an agentic AI platform for scam and fraud prevention, and Reality Defender, a deepfake detection company and winner of the 2024 RSAC Innovation Sandbox, have announced a strategic partnership integrating Reality Defender’s detection capabilities into Charm’s Agentic AI Workforce platform. The integration covers voice, image, and text analysis, enabling financial institutions, digital platforms, and enterprises to identify manipulated communications in real time without switching tools or escalating interactions to human specialists.

Through the integration, Charm’s AI agents can invoke Reality Defender’s detection technology on demand to assess whether voices, images, or text involved in a given interaction are real or synthetically manipulated. The system is designed to preserve human context in fraud investigations by surfacing not only whether content is fake, but how it is being used to manipulate or deceive the target. That framing, combining a detection verdict with behavioral context, is intended to give fraud investigators a clearer picture than a binary fake-or-real signal alone would provide.

The partnership addresses the growing use of AI-generated audio, video, and text in financial fraud schemes, including social engineering attacks, account takeover operations, and identity impersonation at scale. The threat environment has grown more complex as AI-generated presentations now mimic physiological signals once relied upon as liveness indicators, defeating detection methods the industry has depended on for several years.

Reality Defender has expanded its synthetic media detection capabilities through targeted partnerships. The Charm integration extends Reality Defender’s synthetic voice detection program that began with its ElevenLabs partnership in 2024. The deal also reflects a broader market movement toward deepfake-resistant identity verification partnerships as financial institutions seek real-time synthetic media defenses that can operate at the speed of live customer interactions.
