Conversational AI pioneer Nuance Communications has been recognized by Opus Research’s Intelligent Authentication and Fraud Prevention Intelliview Report 2020 as a Leader ahead of rival vendors.
The focus of the latest report was “Intelligent Authentication” (IAuth), defined by Opus as a range of solutions and offerings that have evolved to include biometrics, fraud detection, digital orchestration, and continuous authentication.
Opus looked at various products and services from 20 different vendors, with the focus in its decision being on the completeness of the offerings and their ability to perform in a number of fields including fraud detection and business processes that include seamless authentication.
“The top offerings in this report are context-aware, meaning they can take a customer’s location, past activity, transaction history, and current intent into account to derive the level of risk to assign to a particular customer or activity,” said Dan Miller, Lead Analyst, Opus Research. “In addition to success establishing trusted communications with customers, Nuance has the ability to support passive enrollment within the course of the conversation, using a speech-enabled IVR, VA, or live agent, which helped the company secure the high rating,” he added.
Nuance received high marks for its integrated authentication and fraud prevention solution across both digital and voice channels, the success rate of its authentication technology, as well as its fraud prevention rate.
It also garnered praise for having a turnkey solution with the largest voice biometrics platform among all vendors that were looked at.
“It’s an honor to be recognized once again by Opus Research for the sophistication and robustness of our biometric solutions, and I’m exceptionally proud of the team for continually advancing our state-of-the-art solutions,” said Brett Beranek, General Manager and Vice President, Nuance. “It’s encouraging to see the industry recognize the importance of having solutions that offer flexibility of integration and channel, as well as the winning combination of fraud prevention and authentication.”
Nuance’s solutions can be found in eight of the 10 largest telecommunications companies in the world, and its biometrics solutions are responsible for more than 8 billion successful authentications yearly from over 600 million consumers.
