Nuance Healthcare Division Gets New GM

Nuance has announced new leadership for the healthcare arm of its business: Diana Nole is the company’s new Executive Vice President and General Manager of Healthcare.

It’s an important post. In the company’s most recent quarterly update, CEO Mark Benjamin emphasized the contributions of Nuance’s healthcare and enterprise activities to its strong results; and since then, the company has enhanced its Dragon Medical portfolio with a new clinical AI solution called DAX, announced a partnership with the American Medical Association, and launched its Dragon Medical One platform in Scandinavia.

For her part, Nole comes to Nuance from a position as head of the Wolters Kluwer Health division, where she oversaw the operations of a $1.3 billion healthcare IT firm. “Under Ms. Nole’s leadership, Wolters Kluwer formed a centralized applied data science team that accelerated the successful introduction of next-generation AI-based solutions for data interoperability, clinical surveillance, and competency test preparation for nursing education,” Nuance attested in a statement announcing her appointment.

Nole has also served as President of Carestream Health’s Digital Medical Solutions Division, a position she held from 2007 to 2015; and prior to that she was VP of Strategy, Product Management, and Marketing for Eastman Kodak’s Healthcare Information Technology Solutions arm from 2005 to 2007.

“Diana’s experience in leading global teams to develop and deliver comprehensive, integrated AI solutions for healthcare’s complex clinical and financial challenges is a tremendous and timely addition to the expertise of our Healthcare organization,” asserted Nuance CEO Mark Benjamin.

Nole will be based in Nuance’s headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts. She will begin her position on June 1, and will report directly to Benjamin.
