With an eye to expansion, BioConnect is bringing in a new senior executive to focus on the development of its engineering team. It’s a dual role, with Courtney Gibson becoming the firm’s Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Security Officer.
Gibson comes to BioConnect from a previous role as Chief Information Security Officer with OANDA Corporation, a currency data and online trading company. In a statement announcing his appointment, BioConnect asserted that in his role with OANDA, Gibson “directly assisted in an aggressive two-year turn-around, returning the business to sustainable profitability.” BioConnect added that with Gibson’s help the company grew from a 15-person startup to a global firm with a staff of 300.
Commenting further on the appointment, BioConnect CEO Rob Douglas said that Gibson joins the team at a time of “significant demand and scale for the BioConnect platform,” and lauded Gibson’s “expertise in cybersecurity, highly regulated environments, building out large-scale financial systems and his deep technical leadership”. Douglas added that BioConnect aims to “significantly expand” its engineering team under Gibson’s leadership.
Gibson’s new role with BioConnect will officially commence on June 4th.
