NEC will once again be showcasing its wares at the SFF x SWITCH event. The acronym refers to the joint Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) x Singapore Week of Innovation & TeCHnology (SWITCH), which is scheduled to run from December 7 to 11.
This year’s event will have a hybrid virtual and in-person format. In addition to the primary online hub, the organizers will run more than 40 satellite events in cities all over the world, some of which may allow for limited in-person interactions, depending on the local social distancing and public safety guidelines.
For its part, NEC will be focusing on digital finance, with a presentation on ‘Banks of the Future’ during the SFF x SWITCH Green Shoot series. The company will also run three virtual workshops that examine the impact of biometric and cloud technology on the banking industry.
“NEC is developing offerings to realize banks of the future,” said NEC Senior Director Daichi Iwata. “NEC’s suite of digital offerings backed with cutting-edge AI, blockchain, biometrics and other innovative technologies can help financial institutions to be competitive and provide more fair and accessible services.”
NEC demoed a subscription Banking-as-a-Service product at SFF x SWITCH 2019, and will be acting as a gold sponsor for the event in 2020. The company recently acquired Avaloq in an effort to expand its digital finance portfolio.
