The NEC Corporation will be making an appearance at next week’s INTERPOL World 2019 conference in Singapore. The event runs from July 2nd to 4th at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, where NEC will be showcasing an array of solutions designed for government and law enforcement.
Those solutions include NEC’s multi-modal biometric immigration gate, which comes equipped with facial recognition and iris recognition capabilities. NEC’s biometric tech has already been deployed in several airports, and will be integral to Japan’s security plans for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Other offerings include a mobile authentication service and an in-vehicle facial recognition platform, as well as the latest version of NEC’s Enhanced Video Analytics (EVA) suite. The latter is a surveillance solution that leverages AI to monitor crowd behavior and identify potential threats.
Surveillance is an essential part of NEC’s smart city portfolio, which has been expanding with recent deployments in India and was previously credited for multiple arrests in London.
INTERPOL World guests will be able to sample NEC’s catalogue at booth #F11. NEC representatives will also be participating in two panel discussions as part of the INTERPOL World Co-Creation Labs program, with talks focusing on the use of biometrics and the future of immigration control.
