With identity credentials increasingly going digital, and consumers relying more and more on the mobile devices for a range of tasks, it’s no surprise that MicroStrategy‘s Usher platform has found a rising number of applications. The solution is designed to turn a mobile device – from a smartphone to an Apple Watch – into a digital ID through the use of communications technologies like Bluetooth, NFC, and QR codes, and accordingly has been integrated into a number of access control platforms from the likes of Honeywell, Lenel, Paxton, and others.
And, as MicroStrategy VP John Atkinson explains, the potential applications of Usher are only growing. Speaking with FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Atkinson discusses the opportunities presented by the emerging Internet of Things, and the company’s success in promoting Usher in the areas of government, healthcare, and the automotive sector. Atkinson talks about the growing importance of analytics, and, with the flood of so much machine-driven data, “trying to bring the human back into all of this” over the year to come.
